"The First Amendment says that you can say whatever you want. However, decency and common sense require that one carefully consider their words and ideas before opening their mouth (or hitting that keyboard). There are too many people in America who think the First Amendment is a license to simply be outrageous." -- Michael Rivero

UN investigator 'shocked' by scale of destruction in Gaza

The head of a United Nations team investigating possible war crimes by Israel and Hamas during the Gaza war said Thursday he had been shocked by the scale of the destruction in the Palestinian areas.

South African Judge Richard Goldstone spoke at the end of a four-day fact-finding trip to Gaza, during which his 15-member team interviewed dozens of witnesses and visited sites damaged in Israel's three-week offensive against Hamas that ended Jan. 18.

His team hoped to visit Israel and the West Bank as well, but Israel has refused to cooperate, citing alleged anti-Israel bias by the U.N. Human Rights Council, the probe's sponsor.

YouTube Blacklisting WRH Referral Stats?

I noticed this omission on YouTube Friday morning at appx 10:00 a.m. ET. On Thursday 6/4, it appears a WRH member posted a link to a YouTube video: Congresswoman Kaptur Grills Federal Reserve Chair Bernanke at 12:18 Hawaiin time (I assume the time zone). So a day later (at the very least 16 hours) YouTube shows zero referrals from Mike Rivero’s site?

What is actually happening is that members who post YouTube links to WRH are leaving the referral URLS from other sites embedded in them, so the other sites get the credit.

Obama's Speech to Muslims: More Humility and Statesmanship in Two Hours than in the Eight Years of Bushevik Arrogance and Bullying

President Barack Obama traveled to Egypt Thursday and delivered an historic speech to the Muslim world at the University of Cairo. For nearly two hours Obama spoke of the region's various unsolved crises--such as U.S./Islamic relations, the Arab/Israeli conflict, and terrorism--while extending an olive branch to both America's friends and enemies alike. It was a brilliant dissertation on accepting difference, overcoming challenges and achieving a lasting peace. And it was a much welcome departure from the Bush administration's eight years of reckless cowboy arrogance and bullying.

The world's most expensive church!

Setting aside the growing body of evidence that the Big Bang theory is merely religion dressed up to look like science (not unlike how "Intelligent design" is creationism disguised as science), there is a serious flaw in the thinking behind this multi-billion dollar religious shrine.

Let us suppose that in the intense energetic fury of the particle accelerators that something matching the predicted Higgs Boson pops out either at CERN or Fermilab.

What that actually proves is that it is possible for such a particle to be created at those high energies. It does not prove that such energies existed at any point in the past (the Big Bang), or that the particle in question ever existed before its creation in the particle accelerator.

Are they "finding" a Higgs Boson, or creating one?

Gross Fraud At Nuremberg - An Ugly History

These paragraphs are, of course, only a very brief overview of the innumerable deficiencies of the 'evidence' at Nuremberg. The overwhelming Jewish presence behind the scenes as interrogators, jailers and torturers is covered elsewhere in Irving's excellent, but far from complete, study. The sampling of techniques employed, however, is more than sufficient to demonstrate that truth was never the objective of the orchestrators of the trial. That is the key point in evaluating Nuremberg. All the evidence, real and faked at the great trial, was evidence in pursuit of a pre-determined verdict.

As the Dollar Falls Off the Cliff ...

Economic news remains focused on banks and housing, while the threat mounts to the US dollar from massive federal budget deficits in fiscal years 2009 and 2010.

Earlier this year the dollar’s exchange value rose against currencies, such as the euro. UK pound, and Swiss franc, against which the dollar had been steadily falling. The dollar’s rise made US policymakers complacent, even though the rise was due to flight from over-leveraged financial instruments and falling stock markets into “safe” Treasuries. Since April, however, the dollar has steadily declined as investors and foreign central banks realize that the massive federal budget deficits are likely to be monetized.

What happens to the dollar will be the key driver of what lies ahead. The likely scenario could be nasty.

Israel is in the grip of a kind of collective schizophrenia. Not only its governors but the majority of its Jewish population have delusions of both grandeur and persecution, making for a distortion of reality and inconsistent behavior. Israeli Jews see and represent themselves as a chosen people and part of a superior Western civilization. They consider themselves more cerebral, reasonable, moral, and dynamic than Arabs and Muslims generally, and Palestinians in particular. Boom Times Are Back, Outside the U.S.

It is becoming increasingly clear that the story of the global economy is a tale of two worlds. In one, there is only gloom and doom, and in the other there is light and hope. In the traditional bastions of wealth and power—America, Europe and Japan—it is difficult to find much good news.

But there is a new world out there—China, India, Indonesia, Brazil—in which economic growth continues to power ahead, in which governments are not buried under a mountain of debt and in which citizens remain remarkably optimistic about their future.

Ruling allowing Taser use to get DNA may be nation’s first

Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon Sperrazza decided that the DNA sample obtained Sept. 29 from Ryan S. Smith of Niagara Falls — which ties him to a shooting and a gas station robbery— is legally valid and can be used at his trial.

He already had given a sample, a swab of the inside of his cheek, without protest the previous month. But police sent it to the wrong lab, where it was opened and spoiled. Prosecutors who had obtained a court order for the first sample went back to Sperrazza, who signed another order without consulting the defense.

Webmaster's Commentary:

If your head isn't spinning around like that of Linda Blair's in "The Exorcist" upon reading this, you've missed one of the most important aspects of this ruling.

Now, New York State police have carte blanche to use a stun-gun as a DNA gathering device, no matter what the circumstances.

And that statement"It is legally permissible for police to zap a suspect with a Taser to obtain a DNA sample, as long as it’s not done “maliciously, or to an excessive extent, or with resulting injury,” absolutely won't work in the real world, when cops have been legal permission to use a stun-gun for this purpose.

But what if that person zapped is the wrong guy, and could conceivably be killed or maimed for life by a 50,000 volt stun-gun?

The New York State Police has just been held harmless and indemnified against any responsibility when an incident like this happens, courtesy of this insane ruling.

And folks, trust me: it will happen.

US does not want to keep troops in Afghanistan: Obama

"Make no mistake: we do not want to keep our troops in Afghanistan. We seek no military bases there," he told an audience at Cairo University.

He added the US plans to invest 1.5 billion dollars each year over the next five years in construction and aid money to the displaced in Pakistan, and 2.8 billion dollars to help Afghans develop their economy.

Webmaster's Commentary:

(Ahem) a small memo to President Obama:

You've just made the statement:

"Make no mistake: we do not want to keep our troops in Afghanistan. We seek no military bases there,"

If this is true, then what the Sam Hill is going on with the massive construction project at Camp Leatherneck?!?

As reported inhttp://www.google.com/hostednews/afp/article/ALeqM5iQsdQAuKzZl3hMgVzG60jVJVgRiQ,
7 May, 2009:

"It's been real busy," said Captain Jeff Boroway from the 25th Naval Construction regiment.

"This place was desert at the end of January. I mean nothing. And now you've got a 443-acre (179-hectare) secure facility," he told reporters.

They are also expanding another US base in the southern city of Kandahar."

Forgive me, Mr. President, but the establishment of 443 acre "secure facility" sounds like the absolute opposite of "we seek no military bases there" to intelligent Afghans.

And that statement about "aid"; if the current plan to pour 4.3 billion billion dollars into the Afghan and Pakistani infrastructure does as well as has previous aid efforts, we might as well just close up shop and go home.

As reported in

in the article by An Jones in January of 2009, she reported:

"Whatever the truth of the matter, in the long run, it's not soldiers but services that count -- electricity, water, food, healthcare, justice and jobs. Had the U.S. delivered the promised services on time, while employing Afghans to rebuild their own country according to their own priorities and under the supervision of their own government -- a mini-Marshall Plan -- they would now be in charge of their own defense. The forces on the other side, which we loosely call the Taliban, would also have lost much of their grounds for complaint."

"Instead, the Bush administration perpetrated a scam. It used the system it set up to dispense reconstruction aid to both the countries it "liberated," Afghanistan and Iraq, to transfer American taxpayer dollars from the national treasury directly into the pockets of private war profiteers. Think of Halliburton, Bechtel and Blackwater in Iraq; Louis Berger Group, Bearing Point and DynCorp International in Afghanistan. They're all in it together"

Unless President Obama is actually able to hold collective corporate feet to the fire in terms of true accountability, the relief/reconstruction effort in Afghanistan is just as doomed to failure as were the relief/reconstruction efforts in Iraq.

And that's pretty ugly.

How the Vatican sold its soul

The Vatican appears to have an enduring vocation for Italian political and financial scandal. Secrecy and intrigue were the order of the day when American archbishop Paul Marcinkus held sway in the Bastion of Nicholas V, the medieval tower housing the Institute for the Works of Religion (IOR), the Vatican's central bank.

The requirements of a clandestine global struggle against atheist communism may explain the choice of business partners such as Michele Sindona and Roberto Calvi, whose mafia links and ruinous bankruptcies brought lasting discredit on the Catholic church three decades ago.

The OTHER Reason for the American Revolution

When he arrived, he was surprised to find rampant unemployment and poverty among the British working classes… Franklin was then asked how the American colonies managed to collect enough money to support their poor houses. He reportedly replied:

“We have no poor houses in the Colonies; and if we had some, there would be nobody to put in them, since there is, in the Colonies, not a single unemployed person, neither beggars nor tramps.”

In 1764, the Bank of England used its influence on Parliament to get a Currency Act passed that made it illegal for any of the colonies to print their own money. The colonists were forced to pay all future taxes to Britain in silver or gold. Anyone lacking in those precious metals had to borrow them at interest from the banks.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This brings us back to the editorial in the London Times written in response to Abraham Lincoln's issuance of the greenback notes.

“If that mischievous financial policy, which had its origin in the North American Republic, should become indurated down to a fixture, then that Government will furnish its own money without cost. It will pay off debts and be without a debt. It will have all the money necessary to carry on its commerce. It will become prosperous beyond precedent in the history of the civilized governments of the world. The brains and the wealth of all countries will go to North America. That government must be destroyed, or it will destroy every monarchy on the globe.”

Do you get it yet? Poverty for the masses is INTENDED, and designed into the system!

Clemson Official Admits to Manipulating its U.S. News Ranking

A presentation by Catherine Watt, the former institutional researcher and now a staff member at Clemson University, laid bare in a way that is usually left to the imagination the steps that Clemson has (rather brazenly) taken since 2001 to move from 38th to 22nd in U.S. News's ranking of public research universities. ...

And to actual gasps from some members of the audience, Watt said that Clemson officials, in filling out the reputational survey form for presidents, rate "all programs other than Clemson below average," to make the university look better. "And I'm confident my president is not the only one who does that," Watt said. ..."We have walked the fine line between illegal, unethical, and really interesting.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Because Chrysler has decided it can make more profits by driving the dealers out of business and selling direct to the consumers?

Windows XP cash machines can steal your PIN

The Trustwave SpiderLabs, an outfit that deals with everything from ethical hacking through to incident response and security forensics, is warning that the bank cash machine network is at risk from a malware attack that collects PIN numbers.

The SpiderLabs team reports that it has been able to perform an analysis of the malware, which had been discovered on compromised East European cash machines running Windows XP.

Plan to Help Banks Clear Their Books Is Halted

Many banks have refused to sell their loans, in part because doing so would force them to mark down the value of those loans and book big losses. Even though the government was prepared to prop up prices by offering cheap financing to investors, the prices that banks were demanding have remained far higher than the prices that investors were willing to pay.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is the problem with Mark to Market. The banks get to decide for themselves what the assets are worth and appraise them at a high value to make their books look profitable on paper. Then the US Government comes in with YOUR tax money to entice investors to buy the toxic assets at the inflated prices, but investors know that over-valued assets are a ticking time bomb that will explode the first time any single player decides they have to liquidate and the real value of the assets becomes obvious, triggering a panic sale.

So, after saddling you with $100,000 in tax debt for the bailouts, the government is essentially admitting what I have been telling you all along. There is no real fix; it's all bookkeeping tricks and shifting the laws around.

And none of it will work.

Brown 'sweats bullets' ahead of elections

The political life of British Prime Minister Gordon Brown is hanging by a thread as European and local elections open in the United Kingdom.

More than 2,300 seats are in play in the local council's election that began Thursday morning.

The result could lead to Brown being ousted by his own party, as the Labour party took a sudden nosedive in recent opinion poll ratings after public outrage over an expenses scandal.

Labour Parliamentarians have long been unhappy with Brown's performance, blaming him for the crippling credit crunch, the flaws in the tax system and the budget crisis.

A letter is currently being circulated by Labour back benchers to request the Prime Minister's early resignation before the general elections.

Are Banks Getting Ready To Flood The Market With Houses?

No one really knows how many houses are owned by banks. Banks often buy homes in foreclosure to limit losses, hoping that they'll be able to turn the house around for a profit later. But after months and months of foreclosures, banks may now be preparing to sell the houses they've been buying. Anecdotal evidence from Las Vegas, one of the foreclosure capitals of the US, suggests that we're about to see a release of bank-owned home inventory into the market.

Webmaster's Commentary:

... which will crush housing prices, which will put more home owners into negative equity, which will result in more "walk-aways."

Nobody is asking for socialism or communism. Nobody wants charity.

We just want back what we had before, what we built before, what we EARNED before ... before the government and corporations sent it all away to other countries to "maximize" their profits.

Popular Rabbi’s Comments on Treatment of Arabs Show a Different Side of Chabad

But Friedman, who today travels the country as a Chabad speaker, showed a less warm and cuddly side when he was asked how he thinks Jews should treat their Arab neighbors.

“The only way to fight a moral war is the Jewish way: Destroy their holy sites. Kill men, women and children (and cattle),” Friedman wrote in response to the question posed by Moment Magazine for its “Ask the Rabbis” feature.

Friedman argued that if Israel followed this wisdom, there would be “no civilian casualties, no children in the line of fire, no false sense of righteousness, in fact, no war.”

“I don’t believe in Western morality,” he wrote. “Living by Torah values will make us a light unto the nations who suffer defeat because of a disastrous morality of human invention.”

Climate Change: Science Manipulated

* 1. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) wants to claim that the global average temperature has unexpectedly and abruptly increased during the 20th century after a gradual cooling from the year 1000, and that this unexpected increase of the temperature is mostly man-made-the greenhouse effect of CO2.

* 2. For their purpose, the IPCC ignored the fact that the Earth went through a cold period called "the Little Ice Age" from 1400 to 1800.

Time to Look Past Obama’s Words and Face-up to His Actions

Perhaps the worst news is the relative silence of the peace movement. Yes, some are criticizing, but some are still holding out hope that Obama is different. Others of us pointed out that buried beneath the peace-friendly rhetoric during the campaign were Obama’s promises of escalation. Now, more and more are seeing he meant what he said when it came to his support for a hawkish U.S. foreign policy.

Disease hype

Drug companies are Publicly traded companies which means their sole purpose is to increase profit margins. The only way they can do that is to sell more drugs. Stop and ask yourself something. Isn't it odd that prescription drugs are advertised on TV? Isn't a doctor supposed to say if you need drugs? So why are they advertizing? A doctor is trained to prescribe a drug for you based on what you need and is supposed to tell you and which one(s) to take. But people are going to doctors saying that they want 'such and such'. If an honest doctor, who is not manipulated by kickbacks from pharmaceutical companies, does not comply, then the patient can ask for another doctor who will give them what they want.
