Turning Gun Owners Into Felons

The Democrats passed SB 554, the “go to the library go to prison” bill, out of committee on a party line vote.

The bill was amended with the “dash 10” amendment

That amendment removes parking garages from the places where a CHL holder can be arrested for having a lawfully carried firearm. It changes the language in the bill, so while in the original bill you could be charged with a felony just by being near an airport, now you would have to go into the terminal to face felony charges.

Senator Floyd Prozanski claimed that this change addressed the “misinformation” that was being spread about the original bill and the risk of being arrested near the airport. In fact, once again, Prozanski was using his typical misdirection because that is exactly what the bill did.

Canada Gun Confiscation In the Coming Months?

This sounds like a dystopian fairy tale, but the reality is this is happening on the doorstep of the United States. Minister Blair made it clear why Prime Minister Trudeau is able to get away with it.

“GUN OWNERSHIP IN CANADA, IN THIS COUNTRY, IS A PRIVILEGE AND NOT A RIGHT,” MINISTER BLAIR EXPLAINED TO CANADA’S GLOBAL NEWS. IT’S A PRIVILEGE THAT’S PREDICATED ON THE STRICT ADHERENCE TO OUR LAWS, OUR REGULATIONS, AND OUR RESTRICTIONS.”

MO county passes law to arrest feds who try enforcing federal gun control laws in county

Newton County, Mo., enacted the Second Amendment Preservation Act on Feb. 3, allowing local law enforcement to arrest federal agents who attempt to enforce laws in the county that violate citizens’ rights to keep and bear arms, in addition to rendering such laws null and void.

The act requires “the courts and law enforcement agencies to protect the rights of law-abiding citizens to keep and bear arms,” adding that law enforcement agencies, county employees and political subdivisions will not have “authority to enforce or attempt to enforce any federal laws, orders or rules infringing on the right to keep and bear arms.”

Any federal agents who attempt to enforce federal regulations that violate the Second Amendment “shall be subject to arrest by the Newton County Missouri Sheriff’s Department,” according to the act.

It Now Only Costs $350 To 3D-Print An Entire Gun

The next round of COVID-19 relief could bring up to $1,400 direct payments to millions of Americans. Some people will buy food, save money, pay rent or bills. Others will gamble in the stock market. Some may take the free money and print an entire 3D gun at home. According to Futurism, it now only costs $350 to print to a firearm, including the printer's cost.

Deterrence Dispensed, an online group that promotes and distributes open-source 3D-printed firearms, has designed a fully functional 3D-printable semiautomatic pistol caliber carbine. Designs for the FGC-9, which stands for "f**k gun control 9 mm," were made widely available on the internet in late 2020.

OUTRAGEOUS Gun Control Bills: Family Psych Evals, $800 a Year “Insurance,” a PUBLIC Gun Registry, and More

Congress and the White House (currently, perhaps the most anti-Second Amendment collection of politicians ever to grasp the reins of power) are now pushing several bills to dismantle the right to keep and bear arms.

United States Bill of Rights: Second-Amendment

“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

One new piece of legislation submitted by Sheila Jackson Lee HR 127 is being called “insanity on steroids” by the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms.

“Over the years,” said CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb, “we’ve seen some astonishingly bad legislation originate on Capitol Hill, but this one takes the term ‘abomination’ to an entirely new level. One look at this bill and you wonder whether Congresswoman Jackson Lee ever heard of the Bill of Rights, which includes the Second Amendment.”

Below The Radar – HR 880 amend the Consumer Product Safety Act

In the 116th Congress, Kelly introduced the Firearm Safety Act of 2019, which placed firearms under the Consumer Product Safety Commission. It’s back as HR 880, and the problems it had when it was reviewed last year are still there. There is, of course, the fact that it hands massive powers over our Second Amendment rights to unelected, unaccountable bureaucrats.

President Biden’s 1-2 Punch Plan to Buckle the Firearm Industry

President Biden isn’t proposing holding criminals accountable for their horrific crimes but wants to allow special interest groups to exploit horrific crimes to land body blows against the firearm industry. It lines lawyers’ pockets and crushes businesses and jobs. This move does nothing to protect the public. -- President Biden is blame-shifting. He’s shifting accountability for criminal actions away from the individual who committed a crime and putting it on manufacturers and retailers. To mix metaphors, it’s like suing Ford for the wrongful deaths caused by drunk drivers. The carmaker didn’t cause the criminal to commit a crime that tragically took a life. The same with firearm manufacturers and retailers. Criminals must be held accountable.

Gun Ownership It’s Not Insurrection, It’s Patriotism, Try Telling That to Gun Banners

Until U.S. gun owners are neutralized, the left cannot take total power. We must now be transformed from racists into violent, dangerous revolutionaries; Media and Big Tech have the dominating power to make that real in the eyes of ignorant Americans. -- The gun control crowd has tried to demonize us in the past as a danger to society, and now they are having another go at it. Our guns and the role we might play in protecting the Constitution have become a crucial detail on their way to total power. We bring a great amount of uncertainty to the situation in which the Democrats find themselves.

These Are the Roughly 200 Businesses Whose Leaders Are Backing Gun Control Initiatives

The Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms launched an initiative last year aimed at providing information to Second Amendment-loving Americans. The goal was to provide a comprehensive list of companies and/or CEOs who back gun control initiatives and legislation or have anti-firearm corporate policies in place.

“When we started this project last year, we were actually surprised, and in some cases disappointed, at some of the businesses we added to the list," CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb said in a statement. "We discovered several brand name businesses and corporate leaders who evidently have a nefarious agenda to limit gun rights. Their current and potential patrons should have the knowledge of what their hard earned dollars are actually funding.”

It is important for NRA members and Second Amendment supporters to stay active in this legislative session. Stay updated through NRA-ILA Alerts, and at our website, www.NRAILA.org.

House Bill 1673, sponsored by Rep. Kevin West, would allow for an individual to carry a firearm in the designated bar area of a restaurant as long as that person is not consuming alcohol.

House Bill 2401, sponsored by Rep. Todd Russ, creates a restoration of rights process that will allow those convicted of nonviolent felonies, to reestablish their Second Amendment rights following a certain period of time with a clean record.

House Bill 2475, sponsored by Rep. Wendi Stearman, would prevent the use of public funds from being used to advocate against the Second Amendment.

Exhaustive Study: Murder Rates Rise Every Place that Bans Guns

So, think banning guns is going to solve America’s murder problem? The data should tell you to think again.

Yes, in spite of the fact that we’ve been told that Mr. and Mrs. America turning all their guns in is the best way to fix violence, that’s actually a complete lie. And the Crime Prevention Resource Center has the numbers to prove it.

The 2013 study looked at murder rates from places that had banned guns around the world, from Washington, D.C. and Chicago to England, Wales, Jamaica and even the Solomon Islands, an archipelago in the South Pacific which only had mass shootings after they decided to ban guns.

Oregon Wants To Ban All Self Defense

Oregon Marxists are attacking the Second Amendment AGAIN. They have another citizen-control bill (AKA Gun Control) in the Senate scheduled for a remote hearing on February 22nd. But this one goes so much further than their usual. This bill wants to take away all of your rights to protect yourself, and leave you completely defenseless.

Senate Bill 554 would make you a felon without even realizing it.

limiting or precluding the use of the affirmative defense … concerning the possession of firearms in public buildings … by persons licensed to carry a concealed handgun

Even possessing an unloaded firearm can get you a Class “C” felony.

The bill redefines “public buildings” to include the private residence of any state official, and the grounds adjacent to each building. It also includes the passenger terminal, and grounds adjacent, of a commercial service airport.

Joe Biden Is Coming For Your Guns

Joe Biden has made no secret of his intention to trash the Second Amendment and do his best to expunge our God-given right of self-defense. Here is a list of some of the details Biden is planning.

1. Ban the manufacture and sale of semi-automatic rifles

2. Ban the importation of semi-automatic rifles

3. Ban high-capacity magazines (those holding more than 10 rounds)

4. Make gun manufacturers financially responsible for someone’s improper use of a firearm

Bank of America Gave “Weapon-Related” Purchase Data Over to the Feds

The federal government deputizing willing banks to compile and hand over information on law-abiding gun owners that is comparable to data they would be prohibited from compiling themselves is a direct attack on the privacy that these statutory protections were intended to preserve. -- This isn’t the first time the federal government has used the acquiescent banking sector to push outcomes gun control advocates could not achieve through legitimate means.

The Lessons We DIDN’T Learn from Mass Murder

Gun control is the promise that ink on paper will protect our children. That isn’t a new idea. We’ve had gun control laws for over a century. Today, we have over twenty thousand firearms regulations, and we were told that each and every one of them was the essential step that would finally make us safe. -- We’re told that honest civilians should be disarmed, but the first thing we do at the sign of danger is called someone with a gun.

In the White House statement, the Biden administration threatened to “not wait for the next mass shooting to heed that call. We will take action to end our epidemic of gun violence and make our schools and communities safer.” -- Such a statement has “executive order” written all over it, critics believe. The question is: How much authority does Biden have to issue an executive order affecting a constitutionally-enumerated fundamental right? Gun rights advocates are already preparing for court confrontations.

Biden Attacks Guns: Demands Background Checks, Magazine Bans, ‘Assault Weapons’ Ban, Manufacturers Liable

Using the anniversary of the horrific Parkland school shooting – which was committed by someone who the FBI repeatedly ignored – as pretext, Joe Biden demanded Congress pass the type stringent gun legislation far left activists have demanded for years.

“Today, as we mourn with the Parkland community, we mourn for all who have lost loved ones to gun violence,” the Biden regime declared in a White House statement, “This Administration will not wait for the next mass shooting to heed that call”.

The Biden regime then demanded “Congress to enact commonsense gun law reforms, including requiring background checks on all gun sales, banning assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, and eliminating immunity for gun manufacturers who knowingly put weapons of war on our streets.”

BIDEN ASKS CONGRESS TO BAN ‘WEAPONS OF WAR ON OUR STREETS’ AS HE USES 3RD ANNIVERSARY OF PARKLAND SHOOTING TO DEMAND GUN CONTROL

President Joe Biden has released a statement allowing a closer look at what his “commonsense” policy on gun laws will be, demanding, among other things, that Congress pass universal background checks and ban “assault weapons.”
“Today, I am calling on Congress to enact commonsense gun law reforms,” Biden said in his Sunday statement. The timing matched the third anniversary of the Parkland shooting, which saw a gunman open fire at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, killing 17 and wounding another 17.

Biden has long promised to put his weight behind stricter gun laws if he were elected president and his ideas run down the list of common demands gun-control advocates often push for. The president is calling for universal background checks on all gun sales, banning high-capacity magazines, an “assault weapons” ban, and “eliminating immunity for gun manufacturers who knowingly put weapons of war on our streets.”

Supreme Court to Decide if Police Can Warrantlessly Raid Homes and Seize Guns of Innocent Citizens

Last week, the Free Thought Project reported on HR 127, the most tyrannical gun bill ever proposed. The bill would target the poor by forcing citizens to pay $800 per year to possess firearms that they are required to register. It also bans multiple legal guns and ammo types, turning tens of millions of Americans into felons over night. While this bill is, without a doubt, the worst gun bill in history, it didn’t lay out any guidelines for violating a citizen’s Fourth Amendment right. Next month, however, the Supreme Court will be considering exactly that — can cops enter a home to seize guns without a warrant?

That escalated quickly.

In March, the Supreme Court will hear the case of Caniglia v. Strom, which asks the question of whether the “community caretaking” exception to the Fourth Amendment’s warrant requirement extends to the home.

Missouri Senate passes gun nullification bill

Missouri Republicans moved a step closer in their attempt to nullify some federal gun laws Wednesday when the Senate passed legislation that would bar federal workers from some state careers for enforcing such policies.

The Senate voted 23-8 to send the bill back to the House, where it passed earlier. The House can either accept the Senate’s changes or negotiate a compromise version.

Senators voted for the bill along party lines with Republicans in support and Democrats in opposition. It would declare “null and void” any past, present or future federal law deemed to be an infringement on gun rights for law-abiding citizens.

Federal agents who knowingly enforce those laws could face civil penalties stemming from lawsuits filed by Missouri residents who think their gun rights were infringed. Those workers would also be banned from future careers in state or local enforcement.

Americans watched rioters burn cities and loot businesses throughout the country. This perfect storm of chaos saw the gun market explode. Dems Are Calling This 'Sedition': Missouri Subverts Biden Gun Laws, Nullifies Federal Statutes

On the same day the Missouri Senate debated 17 hours into the predawn to “perfect” a COVID-19 business liability protection bill, the Missouri House acted fast passing a bill prohibiting state law enforcement agencies from enforcing federal firearms regulations.

House Bill 85, the ‘Second Amendment Preservation Act,’ sponsored by Rep. Jered Taylor, R-Nixa, proceeded to a closing House floor hearing Wednesday in a 107-43 mostly partisan vote.

The measure would nullify federal laws or “other actions deemed to infringe on a person’s Second Amendment right to bear arms,” while claiming not to trespass on federal authority to enforce federal gun laws in Missouri.

New Bill in Congress Essentially Nullifies the Second Amendment

Leftists have made clear that they believe only the government should have guns, and a new bill proposed in Congress would be a huge step toward making this a reality.

Submitted January 4 by Representative Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas), the Sabika Sheikh Firearm Licensing and Registration Act (H.R. 127) would, one observer warns, “end your 2nd Amendment rights permanently.”

The bill’s provisions are staggering, in fact, according to analysts who’ve tried to make sense of its technical language.

“First, HR 127 establishes a federal firearms registration system that will be accessible by federal, state, and local governments, including the military — even the GENERAL PUBLIC!” relates writer Howie Katz.

“The system will track the make, model, and serial number of all firearms, their owners, the dates they were acquired, and where they are being stored.”

"The Charleston loophole": Purchases by people barred from buying guns skyrocketed in 2020

An unprecedented number of people who are legally barred from owning guns managed to buy them in 2020 through the so-called "Charleston loophole," according to data obtained by the advocacy group Everytown for Gun Safety.

The "loophole" allows gun dealers to complete sales after three days if a buyer's background check has not been completed by the FBI. If the agency later determines that the buyer should not have been allowed to get the gun, it refers the case to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, which is tasked with recovering it. There were 5,807 cases in which gun purchases should have been prohibited last year through November 3, 2020, on pace to roughly double the 3,139 total for all of 2019.

More fallout from New York’s body armor confiscation bill

[Rest of article is behind a paywall]
Last month, we learned about a new bill in the New York State legislature that would not only authorize the confiscation of firearms and accessories from law-abiding gun owners but would also outlaw the possession of body armor by civilians. Anyone owning body armor under the proposed law would have a short period of time to voluntarily surrender it or it would be confiscated as well. After further analysis, it became clear that the law would also affect parents who have purchased bulletproof backpacks to protect their children in the event of a school shooting. This has manufacturers of such products up in arms, along with the parents who have already purchased them.

A New York bill aimed at confiscating body armor would also force parents to hand over safety products designed for school shootings.

THE DICK ACT OF 1902 — GUN CONTROL IS FORBIDDEN

The Dick Act of 1902 also known as the Efficiency of Militia Bill H.R. 11654, of June 28, 1902 invalidates all so-called gun-control laws. It also divides the militia into three distinct and separate entities.

The three classes H.R. 11654 provides for are the organized militia, henceforth known as the National Guard of the State, Territory and District of Columbia, the unorganized militia and the regular army. The militia encompasses every able-bodied male between the ages of 18 and 45. All members of the unorganized militia have the absolute personal right and 2nd Amendment right to keep and bear arms of any type, and as many as they can afford to buy.

Within three months, you would have to report to the government where you bought all of your guns, when they were purchased, and where they are currently being stored. -- Needless to say, if the government knows where all of your guns are being stored, it would make it that much easier to grab them from you at some future date. -- H.R. 127 would also require all gun owners to be federally licensed. -- That would mean that owning a gun would no longer be a right. Instead, it would be reduced to a “privilege” that the government could take away at any time.

Here it is – The Bill To Destroy Gun Ownership

Here we have it. They are going after EVERYONE who has a gun or ammunition. They are deeply concerned about a revolution and they want to know every person who has a gun or ammunition. The object of this bill will be to identify every person who has a gun. They will be able to revoke a license and confiscate the gun under rules to be created by the Attorney General. Biden swore he would end the NRA. He was not joking. Like a diverse license, once they create this federal license, they effectively limit the Second Amendment claiming if you obey all their regulations which they can change at any time, then you have that right. But all such rights are eliminated whenever they say so.

Ocasio-Cortez‘s Stunning Ignorance of Federal Gun Laws on Display

Rep. Ocasio-Cortez’s comments in which she bungled gun laws and Constitutional rights started with her saying that she didn’t feel safe and claimed many other Members of Congress agreed with her. She didn’t offer any other names or even attempt at putting a number on it. She did willingly ignore that a concern for safety is exactly why more than 8.4 million people purchased a firearm for the first time last year, among the 21 million background checks for a gun sale. -- Rep. Ocasio-Cortez has sponsored 29 bills and amendments. None of her bills passed the House of Representatives controlled by her fellow Democrats. Only two of her amendments passed, one by voice vote and one by recorded vote. A courtesy she might want to consider on behalf of the People she’s elected to represent would be to understand the laws before she attempts to destroy them.

Inside the NRA’s Strategy to Escape Disaster

The National Rifle Association's bankruptcy in Texas may throw a wrench into New York attorney general Letitia James's (D.) push to shut down the group and seize its assets.

William Brewer, the NRA's leading outside counsel, said a federal bankruptcy judge will have the final say over what happens to the Second Amendment group's assets. James is pursuing a case in state court to dissolve the NRA and reallocate its assets to other nonprofits over accusations of financial impropriety. James will now have to take an extra step in federal court to achieve her goal, according to Brewer.

"In order to dissolve the association, the NRA believes that James would have to seek that relief from the bankruptcy court," Brewer told the Washington Free Beacon.

Rutherford Institute Warns: Police Are Carrying Out Warrantless Home Invasions in Order To Seize Guns as Part of ‘Community Caretaking’ Duties

The Rutherford Institute has issued a warning over police attempting to carry out warrantless home invasions in order to seize lawfully-owned guns under the pretext of their so-called “community caretaking” duties. In an amicus brief filed in Caniglia v. Strom, Institute attorneys have asked the U.S. Supreme Court to reject police claims that the “community caretaking” exception to the Fourth Amendment, which allows police to conduct warrantless searches of vehicles relating to accident investigations and provide aid to “citizens who are ill or in distress,” should be expanded to allow police to enter a home without a warrant and seize lawfully-possessed firearms based on concerns that the guns might be misused.

Affiliate attorneys Michael J. Lockerby, George E. Quillen, Adrian L. Jensen and Brooke D. Clarkson of Foley & Lardner LLP assisted The Rutherford Institute in advancing the arguments in Caniglia.

Nancy Pelosi calls armed Republican members of Congress 'the enemy within' and accuses them of threatening Democrats as lawmakers demand more cash for security

Speaker Nancy Pelosi blasted armed Republican members of Congress as 'the enemy within' the House of Representatives on Thursday as lawmakers asked for additional funds for security amid increasing threats to their safety.

'We will probably need a supplemental for more security for members when the enemy is within the House of Representatives,' she conceded at her press conference on Capitol Hill Thursday.

Asked to specific who she meant by the enemy within, Pelosi forcefully responded: 'It means that we have members of Congress who want to bring guns onto the floor and have threatened violence on other members of Congress.'

HOW WE CAN STOP BIDEN’S GUN CONTROL

With Joe Biden in the White House, and Senator Chuck Schumer ruling the Senate, we are in for a very rough two-to-four years.

And the very survival of America as we know it is at stake, especially if Democrats succeed in eliminating the Senate filibuster –?a procedure which effectively requires legislators to first garner 60 votes (out of 100) before they can move legislation.

In an apocalyptic environment where the filibuster has been eradicated, you can expect to see a Democrat Congress ramming through gun bans, gun owner registration and more.

And to make sure that everything they do is ruled “legal,” anti-gun Democrats have threatened to pack the U.S. Supreme Court.

Ammo shortage hits home as firearm permits increased in IL and IA in 2020

COVID-19 lockdowns and most recently political and civil unrest have people on edge. Individuals are looking for ways to protect themselves in these unsettled times.

There are 5 million new gun owners in the US since 2019. High demands for firearms is causing both a gun and ammunition shortage.

The number of permits to carry nearly doubled in the state of Iowa from 2019 to 2020, with the Iowa Department of Public Safety reporting a jump from 44,166 to 87,269 permits issued.

Illinois saw a 94% increase in firearm owner identification (FOID) card applications during that same time period. These large increases are causing longer wait times for new applications in the state of Illinois.

“2020 has been absolutely insane,” Davenport Guns owner Jeanelle Westrom said.

Women taking aim: Gun sales surge in Florida

For months of this pandemic, toilet paper and bleach were hard to find items in our stores. Now, there’s something else in high demand: guns and gun ammunition.

Americans are breaking gun sale records right now. Women account for more than 40% of those sales. African Americans make up the majority.

Gun sales are projected to beat 2016?s record.

Gun experts attribute it to more women wanting protection in the pandemic, fear of gun laws changing, and a spike in riots and protests this election year.

I went to an outdoor range with Action News Jax law and safety expert Dale Carlson. It took Lopez’s full attention mentally and physically.

‘I’ve never seen it like this:’ Jacksonville gun shop manager breaks down factors leading to ammo shortage

2020 was a big year for gun shops across the nation.

Nearly 5 million Americans bought a firearm for the first time in 2020, according to the National Shooting Sports Foundation.

Three weeks into the new year, there are no signs of stopping — and some Jacksonville gun owners have noticed it’s harder to get their hands on ammunition.

According to a survey taken by NSSF, at various gun stores, 40% of sales in 2020 were to people who have never previously owned a gun.

Action News Jax’s Courtney Cole spoke to management at Greenacres Sporting Goods to talk about what’s leading to the ammo shortage.

Gun Control Groups Push Hollywood for More Anti-gun Propaganda

It’s not quite clear how pampered Hollywood elites belittling the lifestyle choices and attacking the fundamental rights of America’s 100 million gun owners would help to resolve the nation’s “bitterness and divisiveness.”

"Toilet Paper Effect": Americans Scramble For Ammo Amid Shortage

It is certainly a sign of the times. In 2020, the FBI processed a record 39.7 million firearm background checks, the most recorded since the agency began keeping tabs in 1998. On top of that, checks exclusively related to the sale of firearms also reached a record high last year, totaling 21 million, according to firearm trade organization National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF).

The gun and ammo craze, which is being pinned on the COVID-19 crisis, the violent rioting that gripped major cities in recent months, and the new Biden administration, has anyone looking to get their hands on ammunition going to extraordinary lengths as a nation wide shortage strikes the market.

NY judge rules that state's lawsuit to dissolve the NRA can go ahead six days after it filed for bankruptcy and announced a move to Texas

A New York judge on Thursday ruled that the state's lawsuit to dissolve the National Rifle Association can go ahead.

Judge Joel Cohen's decision will allow New York Attorney General Letitia James' lawsuit to move ahead in state court in Manhattan, rather than dismissing it on technical grounds or moving it to federal court, as the NRA's lawyers desired.

James' lawsuit, filed last August, seeks the NRA's dissolution under state nonprofit law over claims that top executives illegally diverted tens of millions of dollars for trips, no-show contracts and other expenditures.

The Gun Rights Movement is Not Violent

Political Violence goes against the heart of the gun rights movement. The Second Amendment protects gun rights in order to provide for defense. The gun community has denounced violence tied to protests throughout 2020, as we also condemn the violence and destruction of property at the US Capitol in January 6th without equivocation.

House Dems Couldn’t Wait To Take Shots At The Second Amendment

The 117th Congress wasn’t in session a whole day before the Democrats fired their first volley against the Second Amendment. The House has seven new gun control bills to consider from three representatives, all filed on the first full day of business. While there have not yet been any introduced to the Senate, with a Democrat trifecta in the Swamp, it seems a safe bet the issue will make it to the upper chamber sooner rather than later.
