Capitol Police Chief: Extremists want to blow up the Capitol and kill as many members as possible

Acting Capitol Police Chief Yogananda Pittman testified before the House Appropriations subcommittee on Thursday claiming that right-wing extremists plan to blow up the U.S. Capitol and kill as many government members as possible.

The American law enforcement officer told subcommittee members during the session that heavy security is needed at the upcoming State of the Union.

“We know that members of the militia groups that were present on Jan. 6 have stated their desire that they want to blow up the Capitol and kill as many members as possible, with a direct nexus to the State of the Union,” Pitman said.

Secret documents reveal Saudi Khashoggi killers used private jet Crown Prince had seized - as U.S. prepares to condemn royal for personally approving the murder

Top secret documents have revealed that the assassins who killed journalist Jamal Khashoggi used two private jets from a firm that Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince had seized as a declassified version of a US intelligence report on Thursday will find that Mohammed bin Salman approved the 2018 killing.

The documents, which were filed as part of a lawsuit in Canada and obtained by CNN, describes how ownership of Sky Prime Aviation was transferred into the country's $400billion sovereign wealth fund, known as the Public Investment Fund, in 2017.

Just a year later, in October 2018, the company's Gulfstreams were used to carry out Khashoggi's murder.

Classified UN report says Blackwater tried to overthrow Libya government

A classified report prepared by UN investigators revealed that the founder of the private security company Blackwater, Eric Prince, violated the arms embargo in Libya and tried to overthrow the internationally recognised government twice in 2019, Reuters reported.

The report was submitted by the UN investigators to the UN Security Council.

The report stated, according to Anadolu Agency, that Prince offered to send mercenaries to renegade General Khalifa Haftar, during a meeting in the Egyptian capital Cairo, ten days after launching the military operation to control Tripoli on 4 April 2019.

The report confirmed that after the meeting, Prince sent "foreign mercenaries, attack aircraft and gunboats" to Haftar.

The report revealed that the mercenary force sent by Prince, who is a former United States Navy commando, had planned to form a team to track down and assassinate Libyan leaders.

Australian Spy Found Dead Reportedly Planned to Release Classified Data on Afghan 'War Crimes'

The officer was found dead in the Russell complex in Canberra just a month after the biggest scandal in the history of the Australian military. According to police reports, his death was not suspicious, as he had apparently committed suicide.

An Australian intelligence officer, who was found dead in the car park of army headquarters in December 2020, allegedly had an encrypted hard drive with him, as he was reportedly planning to release classified information on the misconduct of Australian troops in Afghanistan, according to The Sunday Telegraph.

"It is understood the intelligence officer was going to make the information public because the Brereton Report is an erroneous one-sided witchhunt against the SAS to try to appease the Afghanis", the source told the newspaper.

Dallas woman without power claims: ‘They’re trying to kill us… there is no food, water, or gas here’

Dallas woman named Dr. Tawanna Worlds claims she has been without power for five days and says the government is trying to kill Texans and maintains rolling blackouts managed by the Electric Reliability Council of Texas appear to be targeting middle-class neighborhoods.

The woman explained in a video posted to social media on Friday that a major humanitarian crisis is underway in the Lone Star State.

“They have randomly selected who will be without light and who will,” she said. “We have been five days without lights.”

Worlds said that she stays in a middle-class area and pays hundreds of dollars a month for power. Therefore, she deserves better service.

“They are trying to kill us!” she said. “We don’t have food. The shelves are empty and the restaurants don’t have trucks delivering food to them.”

The Omnipotent Power to Assassinate

It goes without saying that the Constitution called into existence a government with few, limited powers. That was the purpose of enumerating the powers of the federal government. If the Constitution was bringing into existence a government of unlimited or omnipotent powers, then there would have been no point in enumerating a few limited powers. In that event, the Constitution would have called into existence a government with general, unlimited powers to do whatever was in the interests of the nation.

If the Constitution had proposed a government of omnipotent powers, there is no way the American people would have accepted it, in which case America would have continued operating under the Articles of Confederation. Our American ancestors didn’t want a government of omnipotent powers. They wanted a government of few, limited, enumerated powers.

Cop kills K-9 partner by leaving him trapped in a 150-degree vehicle, gets 2 days suspension

In Arizona, there is a double standard. One for the general public and one for the police.

Animals can not be left unattended in vehicles in Arizona due to the extreme heat which can reach temperatures of over 150 degrees F. But that is exactly what happened on June 26, 2020, when temperatures reached a sweltering 108 degrees F in the city.

Sadly, Officer Craig Curry left his K-9 partner in his vehicle when he was in a meeting and failed to check on him.

Vince Foster, Race, and Davidson College Snowflakes

It seemed like a good idea. President Bill Clinton’s deputy White House Counsel, Vincent W. Foster, Jr., was a member of Davidson College’s graduating class of 1967. He is listed among the college’s notable alumni on its Wikipedia page. He died mysteriously, as you may recall, six months to the day after Clinton’s presidential inauguration, his body having been discovered lying behind a berm deep in a Civil War relic, Fort Marcy Park, off the George Washington Parkway across the Potomac River from the capital in Virginia. My article, “Open Letter to Davidson College President Carol Quillen on Corruption” deals primarily with that case.

Twitter Reacts in Anger as GOP Figures Drop Video of Harris Purportedly Joking About Killing Trump

A second impeachment trial in the Senate has begun for the former US president, Donald Trump, who is accused of inciting the deadly 6 January riot at the US Capitol that killed five people. As a result, some pro-Trump figures have begun to search for ways to charge Democratic lawmakers as well.

With Trump's trial imminent, conservatives on Monday dug up a video of US Vice President Kamala Harris, claiming that she was joking about killing Trump, then-Vice President Mike Pence, and then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

A conservative commentator and author, Matt Margolis, tweeted the clip, saying: “Kamala Harris joked about killing Trump, Pence and Sessions with Ellen in 2018. Can we impeach her?” In order to do so, he went back to a tweet at the time the clip aired, by Washington Times columnist Tim Young.

Israel killed Iran's top nuclear scientist with remote-control machine gun that was smuggled into the country in small parts, report claims

Israeli secret agents spent months smuggling a high-tech machine gun into Iran in tiny pieces to kill the regime’s top nuclear scientist, it was revealed last night.

The remote-controlled weapon fired 13 high-accuracy rounds into Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, 62, known as the ‘father’ of Iran’s illegal atomic programme, as he was driven from the capital Tehran to his country residence last year.

The gun was so accurate that the scientist’s wife, who was sitting just inches from him, emerged entirely unscathed from the attack.

ALERT: Man Trump Hired To Lower Drug Prices FOUND DEAD

Cleveland.com has reported that Daniel Best, a former pharmaceutical executive hired by President Trump’s Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar and charged with finding ways to lower prescription drug prices, has killed himself.

Best joined HHS in March. Two months ago, Best delivered a speech outlining ways to lower costs, make it easier for generics and biosimilar drugs to enter the market, and rethinking drug rebate programs that serve to drive up prices.

Now he’s dead.

Call me overly suspicious but the circumstances surrounding Best’s death, and the coroner’s official cause raise red flags for this intrepid reporter. Especially when looking for a motive for his “suicide.”

Kalamata City Council blocks 5G pilot program because of health risks

One city that is taking an appropriately cautious stance when it comes to 5G is Kalamata, Greece, whose city council made the decision to block further development on the 5G network that was being piloted in the city.

The move came following a meeting in which the council determined that the radiation from the upgrade to the mobile network was dangerous. Most of the councilors voted in favor of bringing testing of the risky technology to a halt. Kalamata would have been the first city in Greece to have a 5G network, but the councilors said they felt the network should only be operating in their city when the corresponding networks are put in place throughout the rest of Greece. In other words, they do not want to allow 5G in their city while it is still in the experimental stage.

The Assassination of Fred Hampton: New Documents Reveal Involvement of FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover

Newly unearthed documents have shed new light on the FBI’s role in the murder of the 21-year-old Black Panther leader Fred Hampton on December 4, 1969, when Chicago police raided Hampton’s apartment and shot and killed him in his bed, along with fellow Black Panther leader Mark Clark. Authorities initially claimed the Panthers had opened fire on the police who were there to serve a search warrant for weapons, but evidence later emerged that told a very different story: The FBI, the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office and the Chicago police had conspired to assassinate Fred Hampton. FBI memos and reports obtained by historian and writer Aaron Leonard now show that senior FBI officials played key roles in planning the raid and the subsequent cover-up. “It was approved at the highest level,” says attorney Jeff Haas. We also speak with attorney Flint Taylor.

Capitol Rioter From Texas Arrested For Threatening To ‘Assassinate’ AOC

A Texas man who took part in the Capitol riots earlier this month has been hit with new charges related to him allegedly threatening to “assassinate” the radically liberal Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY).

Court documents obtained by CNN show that Garret Miller is currently facing five criminal charges related to the Capitol riots, including trespassing offenses and making death threats. Specifically, the court papers show that Miller tweeted, “assassinate AOC.”

On top of that, Miller reportedly said that the police officer who fatally shot a Trump supporter during the attack “deserves to die” and won’t “survive long” because it’s “huntin[g] season.” Prosecutors stated that Miller was very active on social media before and during the Capitol riots, saying a “civil war could start” and “next time we bring the guns.”

A DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL TREASURE: THE SAGA OF NANCY PELOSI’S LAPTOP

All the king’s horses and all the king’s men couldn’t put laptop together again.

However, the laptop, which reportedly contains ‘presentations only’ and nothing important, was nowhere to be found.

Israel police prevent Palestinian workers from appearing in court to hide abuse

The Israeli police have refused to bring Palestinian workers who have been arrested while working without permission in Israel to court to hide police brutality against them, Haaretz newspaper reported on Thursday.

Haaretz said that a large police force attacked a group of Palestinian workers in the Modiin settlement near the occupied city of Jerusalem, causing fractures and severe physical harm.

According to the paper, the police attacked the workers in a construction site after receiving a false tip claiming that they planned to carry out an attack in the settlement, noting that two workers suffered various fractures on the body and face and a dislocated shoulder.

The judge at the Magistrate's Court in Petah Tikva demanded the Israeli police clarify how they dealt with the detainees, and to explain why they decided not to bring three of them to the court.

How the U.S. Covered Up the Murder of Journalist Jamal Khashoggi

In October 2018, the world learned of the brutal murder and dismemberment of Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi.

Khashoggi had been a government insider in his home country of Saudi Arabia, but his relationship with the ruling family—and particularly Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman—soured as Khashoggi became an influential advocate for free speech and human rights within the kingdom. In September 2017, fearing retaliation, he fled to the United States.

In 2018, Khashoggi walked into the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, Turkey, to obtain marriage papers and was ambushed by a team of operatives allegedly deployed by Prince Mohammed. As Khashoggi's fiancee, Hatice Cengiz, waited outside for him to return, the Saudi team went to work.

"The global response, the U.S. response, the U.N. response, is basically 'bad boy, we're gonna let you get away with this one,'" says Bryan Fogel, the Oscar-winning filmmaker behind the 2017 Netflix documentary Icarus.

An alleged Saudi troll campaign is targeting a movie about the murder of Jamal Khashoggi

Bryan Fogel made the investigative documentary "The Dissident" to bring to light alleged free-speech suppression efforts by the Saudi government.

Now his film could be a target of the very forces he seeks to expose.

"The Dissident" saw as many as 500 low audience scores out of 2,300 flood the popular film-rating site Rotten Tomatoes on Jan. 12, filmmakers said, an act they believe came from trolls operating on behalf of the Saudi government who wish to create a false sense of dissatisfaction. The movie's approval rating soon plummeted from above 95% to 68%.

A similar dynamic has also appeared to unfold on the movie site IMDb, which has seen 1,175 one-star reviews flood the site since Saturday. In the previous month, the movie rarely collected more than a few dozen such scores in a given day; many more users gave it the highest rating.

DRC: How the CIA Got Patrice Lumumba

On 17 January 1961, just sixty years ago, the first legally elected prime minister of the DRC was assassinated after being overthrown with help from Washington. A sinister episode that Larry Devlin, the ‘Mr. Congo’ of the CIA from 1960 to 1967, would reveal half a century later in his fascinating book, ‘Chief of Station, Congo: Fighting the Cold War in a Hot Zone.’

Leopoldville, on 30 June 1960. With the declaration of its independence, the DRC finally emerges from its long colonial history. A new bilateral system is established with a head of state as cunning as he is impenetrable, Joseph Kasavubu, and a Prime Minister as charismatic as he is unpredictable, Patrice Lumumba. In bars, people dance to the rhythm of the Independence Cha Cha, but the euphoria will be short-lived.

MARTIN LUTHER KING - THE FATAL SHOT CAME FROM A DIFFERENT DIRECTION

According to the government, James Earl Ray shot Dr. Martin Luther King from that window. There is, needless to say, no physical evidence to prove this charge. James Earl Ray spent his life in prison based solely on a coerced confession which he immediately retracted. None of the ballistics tests, which were performed on the rifle James Earl Ray allegedly used, were able to link that rifle to the actual bullet that killed Dr. Martin Luther King. Dr. King's family does not think James Earl Ray was the killer, and recently won a civil court case proving there was a conspiracy.

Now, thanks to writer Ted Wilburn, in a story which follows, new evidence has surfaced to prove that the government and the media have been lying to the public about the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King.

The Collective Assassin: the insecurity and victimhood behind Israel’s militarism

In his voluminous book “Rise and Kill First” (2019), Israeli journalist Ronen Bergman opens with the blunt statement that ‘…since World War II, Israel has assassinated more people than any other country in the Western world.’ This comes to nearly 2300 operations, killing several thousand people.

The statement is controversial and there is no empirical evidence to support it. In fact, it’s quite possible that in their wars in the Middle East and North Africa in the last three-quarters of a century, France, Britain and the United States engaged as frequently and indiscriminately as Israel in assassinations and controversial black-ops.

At The Highest Levels – Part 1 of 3

Thanks to new whistleblower testimony, a connection has come to light.

A name, in fact:

Joseph Rosati

Joseph Rosati is a DEA agent, and according to the whistleblower, someone considered a “cleaner” by higher ups in Washington D.C.

According to whistleblower testimony I have now received, Joseph Rosati is, in fact, the man who hired two MS-13 agents to shake down Seth Rich that fateful night. The intention that night, according to the whistleblower, wasn’t to murder Rich, but to scare him into submission and shake him down for a USB key he was supposedly still carrying on his person – perhaps containing even more revelations, and destined for Wikileaks? Instead, what ended up happening was Rich fought back and then ran when confronted by the armed men, and was subsequently shot in the back by the panicked MS-13 goons.

Rosati was supposedly on the scene, overseeing the whole debacle.

US Military Stands Guard Against Iranian Attack

It was no coincidence that Iran released American hostages on the day of Ronald Reagan’s inauguration in 1981. They knew what they were up against.

It also is not a coincidence the Iranians may be planning a move against this nation, as this publication has been predicting for months. For in Joe Biden, the Iranians also know what they’re up against: weakness. Thus, the US military stands ready to hopefully deter and if need be respond to Iranian aggression. There are reports the attack may come soon. Perhaps a recon in force then. But the real move will come between the Biden inauguration and March.

Israel’s propaganda on Iran’s nuclear program led to death of Mohsen Fakhrizadeh

The Israeli assassination of Iranian defense official Mohsen Fakhrizadeh is being treated as a triumph of Israeli intelligence, with ubiquitous references in The New York Times and other major media outlets to the killing of “Iran’s top nuclear scientist.”

In fact, Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency eliminated Fakhrizadeh, a defense official, despite the knowledge that its public depiction of him as the key architect of an Iranian nuclear weapons program was a deception.

For years, U.S. media outlets have portrayed Fakhrizadeh as Iran’s equivalent to J. Robert Oppenheimer, marketing him to the public as the mastermind behind an Iranian version of the Manhattan Project. This image was developed primarily through a carefully constructed Israeli disinformation operation based on documents that displayed signs of fabrication.

There are now American soldiers fighting in Afghanistan who were born after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, the ostensible casus belli. The American public has long ago grown tired of the war. A YouGov poll conducted in July of 2020 showed that 46 percent of Americans strongly supported withdrawing troops from Afghanistan, with another 30 percent saying they “somewhat” approved of troop withdrawal.

The Curious Case of Seth Rich: Why DNC Staffer's Murder Continues to Stir Up Political Controversy

DNC staffer Seth Rich's unresolved murder case is still raising questions on both sides of the US political aisle. An American investigative journalist has shed light on the efforts to get to the bottom of the case and the FBI's potential role in investigating the 27-year-old's death.

The Tiger Squad; a Saudi hit team

Before the horrific murder of Jamal Khashoggi at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul very few people had ever heard of the Firqat el-Nemir, which translates into English as The Tiger Squad.

The squad is said to comprise 50 operatives, the best recruits from different branches of the kingdom's security services who have one thing in common: blind loyalty to their leader, the Saudi Crown Prince, Mohammad bin Salman.

The Tiger Squad has one major mission: Eliminating Saudi dissidents, at home and abroad, in such a way that it would go unnoticed by the media and the international community.

However, the Khashoggi case was a disaster for the group.

Iran's President Accuses Israel of Assassinating Nuclear Scientist to Provoke War in Region

Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, a senior Iranian physicist and rocket scientist, was killed in a brazen daylight ambush attack on his convoy while traveling along a rural road about 175 km east of Tehran. Iran almost immediately blamed Israel for the assassination. Tel Aviv has not made any formal statements on the matter.

Israel's assassination of Iranian nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh was aimed at destablizing the region and provoking war in the final days of the "ill-fated Trump presidency," President Hassan Rouhani announced Monday, making the comments at a press event.

Emphasizing that "the region's stability" was of great importance to Iran, Rouhani warned that Tehran nonetheless reserves the right to retaliate for the assassination, but will do so at the time and place of its choosing.

NO PRIVACY, NO PROPERTY: THE WORLD IN 2030 ACCORDING TO THE WEF

Authored by Anthony Mueller via The Mises Institute,

The World Economic Forum (WEF) was founded fifty years ago. It has gained more and more prominence over the decades and has become one of the leading platforms of futuristic thinking and planning. As a meeting place of the global elite, the WEF brings together the leaders in business and politics along with a few selected intellectuals. The main thrust of the forum is global control. Free markets and individual choice do not stand as the top values, but state interventionism and collectivism.

Individual liberty and private property are to disappear from this planet by 2030 according to the projections and scenarios coming from the World Economic Forum.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Well, it appears that the US's allegedly "Supreme Court" is well in tune with these values, by throwing out the Texas case, indicating that individual states "have no standing" with regard to whether elections are rigged, or not.

So why don't we get the US Pledge of Allegiance to echo those values, shall we, so school kids get a real understanding of just how bleak their lives are going to be.... if they don't commit suicide as young adults, because the bleakness is just too intense to bear?!? And let's look at an absolutely approved new medical specialty catering to particularly dispossessed kids; assisted suicide from 10 years on, if they cannot face such a future.

So here's the deal; the US Pledge of allegiance should henceforward read and be recited as follows;

I pledge allegiance... the the United States of Thuggocracy; and to the dictatorship for which it stands; one nation... under surveillance and corruption... with zero liberty or justice for most... unless you have the money to buy it!!"

Brandy Vaughn of 'Learn The Risk' Found Dead

Yesterday it was reported on social media that Brandy Vaughn, founder of Learn The Risk, a vaccine awareness non-profit organization, was found unresponsive by her 9-year-old son. Her community was shocked. She was a 47-year-old single mom, apparently healthy, and had been very clear that she no reason to commit suicide.

As a former executive of Merck who spoke out against vaccines, she was harassed and threatened. She knew she was at risk. A year ago, she made a video recording of how her home had been repeatedly broken into, items moved, and she suspected that her home had been bugged. Incidents occurred to demonstrate that someone had been listening to her conversations or watching her by camera.

Did Israel Kill the Kennedys?

Just after midnight of June 6, 1968, Senator Robert Kennedy was assassinated in a backroom of the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles. He had just been celebrating his victory at the California primaries, which made him the most likely Democratic nominee for the presidential election. His popularity was so great that Richard Nixon, on the Republican side, stood little chance. At the age of 43, Robert would have become the youngest American president ever, after being the youngest Attorney General in his brother’s government. His death opened the way for Nixon, who could finally become president eight years after having been defeated by John F. Kennedy in 1960.

Full-Scale War or Partial Retaliation: What Are Iran's Options to Avenge Fakhrizadeh's Killing?

Iran is unlikely to declare a full-fledged war against Israel, which it blames for the assassination of its top nuclear scientist, according to one Israeli expert. At the same time, he claims that Tehran might retaliate, opting for a limited strike or a targeted killing of an Israeli diplomat abroad.

Iran is still trying to decipher the assassination of its nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, who was killed ten days ago with the help of a satellite-controlled machine gun that purportedly used artificial intelligence.

The Islamic Republic pointed the finger of blame at Israel for the assassination, claiming it was in Tel Aviv's interests to get rid of an Iranian nuclear scientist believed to play a pivotal role in building the country's atomic reactors.

Israel tried to lure Iran into war with Fakhrizadeh's killing. So far it has failed

As time has elapsed since the killing of Iranian nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh on 27 November, the chances for quick retaliation are fading away.

After the assassination, in an operation east of Tehran attributed to Israel’s Mossad, senior Iranian leaders have used harsh language to promise revenge, not only against Israel but also the United States and Israel’s new allies in the region, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates.

Among those vowing retribution were President Hassan Rouhani and military confidants of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, including former Defence Minister Ahmad Wahidi.

Chaos & Suspicion: The Killing Of Iran's Nuclear Scientists

New details are emerging about an attack that killed Iran's most senior nuclear scientist last Friday. Initially, it was thought that Mohsen Fakhrizadeh's car was attacked by undentified gunmen armed with automatic weapons and explosives. However, a Fars news agency report on Sunday evening states that Fakhrizadeh was actually killed by a remote-controlled weapon mounted in a vehicle that subsequently exploded. Iran has blamed Israel and an opposition group in exile called Mujahedeen-e-Khalq for the attack. A senior Iranian security official has described it as "highly complex", adding that it was carried out with "electronic devices".

While Mohsen Fakhrizadeh is the most senior nuclear scientist to be killed in mysterious circumstances in Iran, Statista's Niall McCarthy notes that he is by no means the first with Tehran holding Israel accountable for at least five assassinations.

It risks lethal retaliation & a new round of regional conflict. Iranian leaders would be wise to wait for the return of responsible American leadership on the global stage & to resist the urge to respond against perceived culprits” was both restrained and reasonable. Or it was at least so until sentence two, which was clearly intended to attack Donald Trump and praise the incoming Joe Biden administration, which Brennan just might be seeking to join.

Israel Tries To Kill The Nuclear Deal

Last Friday Iran’s leading nuclear scientist, Mohsen Fakhrizadeh was assassinated in a coordinated terrorist attack outside of Tehran. The Iranian government has publicly blamed Israel for the attack, and according to early reports Israeli involvement has been confirmed by U.S. and other intelligence officials. Israel sponsored a number of similar assassinations of lower-profile scientists in the early 2010s, and their government is a loud opponent of U.S. reentry into the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). The purpose of murdering Fakhrizadeh seems to have been to trigger a conflict that would kill the JCPOA, but the murderers also reminded us why it is so important that their efforts fail.

Iran Suspects Exiled Cult Was Involved In Assassination Of Top Scientist

Iran continues to release details surrounding the killing of its top scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh. On Monday, a senior Iranian official said a controversial group of Iranian exiles based in Albania could have been involved in the assassination.

"We have some clues but surely the 'Monafeghin' group was involved and the criminal element behind it is the Zionist regime and Mossad," Ali Shamkhani, secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran, told state TV.

The "Monafeghin" refers to the National Council of Resistance of Iran, a coalition led by the People’s Mujahedin of Iran, or MEK (Mujahedin-e Khalq). The MEK is a controversial group widely considered to be a cult, and up until 2012, was designated as a terrorist group by the US government.

Kazem Gharibabadi told reporters on Monday that the IAEA is expected to clearly declare its stance regarding the recent act of terrorism and strongly condemn it.

“The IAEA has an immediate and primary responsibility toward the member state (Iran) that has accepted the highest level of the Agency’s inspections, has the most transparent nuclear program as it implements various commitments, but its scientists are exposed to assassination threats or are targeted by terrorists, and its nuclear facilities are exposed to aggression or are targeted with sabotage,” Gharibabadi said.

Justice Department Asserts Unreviewable Discretion to Kill US Citizens

Drawing alarm at the D.C. Circuit, a lawyer for the United States argued Monday that the government has the power to kill its citizens without judicial oversight when state secrets are involved.

“Do you appreciate how extraordinary that proposition is?” U.S. Circuit Judge Patricia Millett asked Justice Department attorney Bradley Hinshelwood, paraphrasing his claim as giving the government the ability to “unilaterally decide to kill U.S. citizens.”

The hearing before the federal appeals court came as the government fights to hold off allegations by two journalists who say it wrongly targeted them as terrorists in Syria.

One of the journalists, U.S. citizen Bilal Abdul Kareem, says his interviews with al-Qaida-linked militants landed him on the U.S. kill list. Just in June and August 2016, Kareem says, the U.S. government targeted him five times, including one drone strike involving a U.S.-made Hellfire missile.

Who killed Iran's most prominent nuclear scientist?

There are several versions of the recent assassination of the most prominent Iranian nuclear scientist and high-ranking officer of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Mohsen Fakhrizadeh.

Who killed Iran's most prominent nuclear scientist?
The scientist was traveling with his wife from the city of Rostamkol (Mazandaran Province in northern Iran) to Absard, Tehran Province. He was accompanied by three security vehicles. The first escort vehicle went forward to check the situation on the road. After that, the sound of bullets hitting the car attracted Fakhrizadeh's attention. He stepped out of the vehicle, mistaking those sounds for engine malfunction, and it was at that moment of time, when Fakhrizadeh was shot. The scientist was hit by four bullets, several other bullets killed his bodyguard. The scientist was rushed to hospital, but the doctors were unable to save his life.

Five Scientists in 10 Years: Iran’s Nuclear Physicists Are Top Targets for Assassins

To be a nuclear scientist in Iran is to be in danger. During the past decade, up to this week, at least four had been killed in vehicle bombings and shootouts, and several others have been targeted but survived.

On Friday, the alleged architect of Iran’s military nuclear programme joined the ranks of the slain. Armed assassins gunned down Mohsen Fakhrizadeh in his car in an ambush in Absard city, outside the capital Tehran.

Fakhrizadeh, an officer in Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), has been known as one of Iran’s most celebrated physicists because of his work on the country’s nuclear programme, Project 111.

When his colleague, Majid Shahriari, was assassinated in 2010, the UN described Fakhrizadeh as a leader in Tehran’s effort to acquire a nuclear warhead.

Intelligence officials: Israel behind elimination of Iranian scientist

Three intelligence officials told The New York Times on Friday that Israel was behind the attack in which senior Iranian nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh was eliminated.

It is unclear how much the United States may have known about the operation in advance, according to The New York Times, and the White House declined to comment.

Fakhrizadeh has been considered the driving force behind Iran’s nuclear weapons program for two decades, and continued to work after the main part of the effort was quietly disbanded in the early 2000s.

Earlier on Friday, Iran’s Foreign Minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif, said there were “serious indications” that Israel was involved in the elimination of a top nuclear scientist and called on the international community to condemn the elimination.

Killing of Top Iranian Scientist Raises Risk of Regional War

The killing of a top Iranian scientist on Friday could risk a major war in the region, with all signs pointing to Israel being responsible. The assassination came after a report said President Trump reviewed options to strike an Iranian nuclear site at an Oval Office meeting earlier this month.

Although officials left the meeting assuming a military strike was off the table, other options were left open. Three intelligence officials told The New York Times that Israel was responsible for killing Mohsen Fakhrizadeh. If Israel carried out the assassination, it raises questions about how much the US knew about the operation.

The Times story on Fakhrizadeh’s killing reads: “It was unclear how much the United States may have known about the operation in advance, but the two nations are the closest of allies and have long shared intelligence regarding Iran.”
